ReviewMyChess in Claude, ChatGPT and other AI assistants
Last updated: 10 October 2026
ReviewMyChess is a remote MCP server, also called a connector, that lets AI assistants review chess games with Stockfish 19. Ask about a game and your assistant gets each player's accuracy, every move classified from Brilliant to Blunder and the key moments with the better move. It explains them in plain words and links to the full review on this site. Single games are free and need no account.
Connect
Server URL: https://reviewmychess.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP)
- Claude, on every plan including Free: open Add to Claude and confirm with Add, or go to Customize, Connectors, Add custom connector and paste the URL. On Team and Enterprise, an owner adds it.
- Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http reviewmychess https://reviewmychess.com/mcp - ChatGPT, with Plus or Pro on the web: turn on developer mode in ChatGPT's settings, then add a custom MCP server with the URL above.
- Other assistants: any MCP client that connects to remote servers over Streamable HTTP.
What to ask
- “Review my last Chess.com game. My username is …”
- “Where did I go wrong in chess.com/game/live/123456789?”
- “Review my last 5 blitz games. My username is …”
- “Review this game:” followed by its PGN
- “How has my blitz accuracy changed this year?” (needs the profile analysis)
Tools
- review_game, free and without an account: reviews one game from its Chess.com link, the latest game of a Chess.com username, or a PGN. It returns both players' accuracy and estimated game rating, how many moves fall in each class, up to 12 key moments with the better move, and a link to the interactive review.
- list_recent_games, free and without an account: a player's latest games, up to 5, optionally of one time control, with the opponent, result and links. Your assistant then reviews each of them.
- analyze_profile, with sign-in and a subscription: results, rating and average accuracy per time control, and accuracy by month, across every game of a Chess.com profile you subscribe to.
- list_profile_games, with sign-in and a subscription: the profile's games, newest first, 50 per page, with ratings, accuracy and review links.
All tools only read. They never change your account or your Chess.com profile.
Without the connector
Assistants can also read text pages that run the same review, with no setup: a player's latest games at https://reviewmychess.com/player/<username>.md, and each game at its review address with .md added. Assistants only open links that appear in the chat, so the easiest start is Ask Claude or Ask ChatGPT on the home page, which opens the chat with your link.
Signing in
Reviewing a game never asks you to sign in. The first time you ask about a whole profile, your assistant shows a Connect button. You sign in with a link we email you, open it in the same browser, and allow the app on the next page. To disconnect, remove the connector in your assistant. Deleting your ReviewMyChess account also revokes its access.
Limits
- Stockfish searches to depth 14 on our server, or 12 for games over 60 moves. That is less deep than this site's own review (depth 18), so the numbers can differ slightly.
- A new review takes up to about a minute for a long game. A game that was reviewed before comes back right away.
- Only standard chess. Chess.com publishes a game about a minute after it ends.
- At most 20 new reviews a minute for everyone together. Reviews of games that were reviewed before don't count.
Troubleshooting
- “Chess.com hasn't published this game yet”: wait a minute after the game ends, then ask again.
- “There is no Chess.com player called …”: check how the username is spelled.
- “Too many game reviews right now”: wait a minute, then ask again.
- The profile tools say there is no subscription: start the profile analysis for that username on this site, then ask again.
- Connecting fails: open the sign-in email in the browser where you started, and allow the app on the page that follows.
Privacy and support
Your assistant sends us only what a tool needs: a username, a game link or a PGN. We never see your conversation. The Privacy Policy has the details. For questions or problems, email hello@reviewmychess.com.
ReviewMyChess is not affiliated with Chess.com. It reads public games from Chess.com's Published-Data API.
